SUNBIO 100% Compostable Products

SUNBIO products are invented and developed to meet consumer needs while maintaining ecological balance. The outstanding feature of "SUNBIO Products" is truly biodegradable without residue or micro-plastics as “natural compensation”.

SUNBIO is a bioplastic using purely natural raw materials such as corn, sugarcane and cassava converting into straws, zipper bags, handle bags, garbage bags, etc. The special feature of these plastics is biodegradable by fermentation with natural microbes and bacteria increasing the disintegration. It will thenceforth be converted into carbon dioxide, water and biomass within 180 days leaving neither harm nor toxic to environment and ecological cycle.

SUNBIO INNOVATION

SUNBIO's products meet many international standards in biodegradable packaging fields including EN13432, ASTM D6400, ISO 14855, JIS K 6953, Din Certco (Germany), the seedling logo and certification from the Institute of Biodegradable Products (BPI) as a guarantee that our products are certainly biodegradable. Many eco-friendly products are provided such as zipper bags, plastic tubes, shopping bags, garbage bags, gloves, knives and agricultural films. The properties of these products are not inferior to those produced by conventional plastics

FAQ

The Difference Between DEGRADABLE / COMPOSTABLE / OXO

Degradable refers to the ability of materials to break down and return to nature.

Compostable materials are similar to biodegradable materials, as they are both intended to return to the earth safely. However, compostable materials go one step further by providing the earth with nutrients once the material has completely broken down.

Oxo-Degradable plastics quickly fragment into smaller and smaller pieces, called microplastics, but don’t break down at the molecular or polymer level like biodegradable and compostable plastics. The resulting microplastics are left in the environment indefinitely until they eventually fully break down.

Biodegradation under optimum conditions. What does “optimum conditions

The optimum decomposition conditions are the conditions in which microorganisms work efficiently, such as the fermentation process or landfill. The determinants of decay depend on temperature, humidity, number of microbes, the size and thickness of the product.

Does the micro-plastic from bioplastics left after them completely biodegraded?

Bioplastics will split into small pieces and be decomposed by microbes. The plastics are then transformed into biomass, water and carbon dioxide and no leftover of micro-plastic residues.

Are compostable plastics dangerous for aquatic animals, especially through ingestion?

Eating foreign objects either natural or plastic can be dangerous. The advantage of compostable plastics is faster biodegradable than conventional plastics. It is less possibility of residues in nature and reducing the risk of the aforementioned.

Does a campaign for bioplastic consumption represent a sustainable solution? / How ?

It would be great to use plastics appropriately. Bioplastic is suitable for products which are single-use and recycle such as food-contaminated packaging. As bioplastics decompose faster than conventional plastics, they plausibly reduce residual waste to nature.

Is SUNBIO a 100 percent biodegradable product?

All SUNBIO’s products are produced by biodegradable plastic resins decomposed into biomass, water and carbon dioxide in optimum decomposition conditions without toxic to environment.

Does it has the exact decomposition period?

The time of decomposition depends on the weather, humidity, the size and thickness of the workpiece. According to ASTM D6400, EN 13432 and ISO 17088 standards, 55-60 degrees Celsius are required for decaying products into water, carbon dioxide and biomass leaving no residues within 6 months. However, PLA and PBS plastics are biodegradable within 6-24 months. Please see the further details on the back of the package.
